The End of the 20th Century

Concluding World War 2 and into the new millennium, Canada has taken a step up to improve both world wide peace but also their own society. Wars continued throughout the century and Canada was pulled into many. Through their position between two powers and neutral position between many countries, Canada was in a perfect placement to aid in many tasks. The destruction from all these altercations resulted in an increased amount of refugees needing a place to reside. Canada welcomed people with open arms but had to place restrictions on who was allowed to enter. For those already in Canada, protests and petitions came about to improve the rights and living conditions of those who needed it. While there was a great focus on helping those overseas, within Canada, there were growing upsets and disputes. Western Canada and Quebec were upset at the actions the federal government took against them and acted in response to maintain their way of living. Canada, while a pleasant place to live now, had and still has many problems but continues to strive to improve an create a better future.
